Archineri is its white from Carricante grown in contrada Caselle above Milo, on the volcano's eastern side at around 850 metres.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe vines there are pre-phylloxera, trained as bush vines in the old alberello fashion, and some are approaching 150 years old. Soils are sandy and full of volcanic stone, and the fruit is picked by hand in October.
