The estate first made this Chardonnay in 1987 from selected French clones grafted onto white varieties already growing on the property.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe grapes come from vineyards at 350-400 metres facing north-west, on limestone, marl and galestro. Fermentation takes place in small oak barrels, about 30% new, followed by extended contact with the fine lees.
