Masi

Valpolicella, VenetoFounded around 17722 bottles in our shop

Masi is a Veneto house closely tied to Valpolicella, the hill area north of Verona. The Boscaini family have been associated with the Vaio dei Masi vineyard in the Valpolicella Classico zone since the late 18th century, around 1772, and the company is still run by the family. It also owns the Serego Alighieri estate, linked to the descendants of the poet Dante.

Masi is a key name for Amarone and for the appassimento technique, in which grapes are partly dried before fermentation to concentrate flavour. Its Campofiorin is a pioneering example of the style, with a second fermentation on dried grapes giving a richer wine at an accessible level.

WineTime carries Valpolicella Classico "Bonacosta" DOC 2019 and Rosso del Veronese "Brolo Campofiorin Oro" IGT 2016.
