Tasting notes

Bright, intense ruby with purple hues. Aniseed, almond, violet, blood orange and coffee on the nose, with vanilla and ripe Sangiovese fruit. Bold and enticing, with structured tannins, balanced acidity and a long finish of sweet liquorice and coffee.

About this wine

Villa di Capezzana is the flagship Carmignano DOCG of Tenuta di Capezzana, a blend of Sangiovese and Cabernet, the traditional pairing of the Carmignano denomination.

In 2016 the Sangiovese was picked from late September to mid-October and the Cabernet in the second week of October. After seven days of fermentation in steel and 13 days on the skins, 70% of the wine aged 12 months in tonneaux and 30% 16 months in large barrels, followed by at least 12 months in bottle. This listing is the 2016 vintage.
