Brancaia

Brancaia is a Tuscan estate with vineyards in Chianti Classico, around Radda and Castellina, and in the Maremma on the coast. It was founded around 1981 by the Swiss couple Brigitte and Bruno Widmer, who fell for the Tuscan countryside, and it is today run with the next generation of the family.

The estate is best known for Sangiovese-based reds, in Chianti Classico and in blends such as Il Blu, which pair local grapes with Merlot and Cabernet. The style favours ripe fruit, well-integrated oak and a polished texture. Over the years the team has also moved towards organic farming.
