Montalcino, Toscana2 bottles in our shop

Castello Tricerchi is an estate in the Montalcino area, in the Tuscan hills south of Siena, built around an old fortified building from which it takes its name. It makes wine from Sangiovese Grosso, the grape behind Brunello di Montalcino and its younger sibling Rosso di Montalcino.

Brunello must be aged for several years before release, including time in oak, and the best examples combine red cherry, spice and earthy notes with firm, fine-grained tannins. Rosso di Montalcino is released earlier and offers a fresher, more straightforward expression of the same hills.

WineTime offers Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2016 and Rosso di Montalcino DOC 2020, both good matches for roast meat, game, wild mushrooms and mature cheese.
