Codici Masserie

Codici Masserie is a producer from Puglia, in the south-eastern heel of Italy, working with the region's signature red grape, Primitivo. The name refers to the masserie, the traditional fortified farmhouses that dot the Apulian countryside and have long been the centre of agricultural life in Salento.

Primitivo thrives in the hot, dry climate and red soils of the area around Manduria, giving wines that are rich, ripe and generous, with dark cherry and plum, spice and a soft, warm finish. The style here aims at intensity and approachability.

WineTime carries two bottles: Primitivo di Manduria DOP 2021 and Salento Primitivo Rinforzo IGT 2019, both well suited to grilled meats, slow-cooked stews and aged cheese.
