Grattamacco

Grattamacco is one of the pioneering estates of Bolgheri, the stretch of Tuscan coast near Castagneto Carducci that became famous for Bordeaux-style blends. The first vines were planted around 1977 on a hill above the village, and the property sits in the upper, more clay and limestone part of the appellation, with views towards the Tyrrhenian Sea.

The wines are known for their balance between ripe Mediterranean fruit and a distinctly fresh, herbal, salty-mineral character, which comes from the elevation and sea breezes. The estate works mainly with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Sangiovese and Vermentino.

WineTime carries Bolgheri Rosso DOC 2020 and the white Bolgheri Vermentino DOC 2018.
