Ricossa

Ricossa is a Piedmont wine house working in the Monferrato area, the hilly country around Asti and Alessandria where Barbera is the leading red grape. The label is aimed at bringing out the generous, fruity side of this variety, which in Piedmont is usually valued for its deep colour, lively acidity and soft tannins.

WineTime carries the Piemonte Barbera "Appassimento" DOC 2017. In the appassimento method a portion of the grapes is partly dried before pressing, which concentrates sugars and flavours and gives a richer, rounder wine with notes of dark cherry, plum and spice. It is a natural match for roast meats, aged cheeses and hearty pasta dishes.
