Tasting notes

Deep ruby red. Ripe soft fruit, black cherry, plum and sweet spice on the nose. The palate is dense and fabulously velvety, with concentrated fruit from the appassimento grapes, soft tannins and a warm, spicy finish.

Portico del Sud Nero d'Avola Appassito 2025 is a Sicilian red made from Nero d'Avola, the island's flagship grape, using the appassimento method, in which grapes are partially dried to concentrate their flavour. It won gold at the Berlin Wine Trophy.

Soft fruit, density and a fabulously velvety texture define this intense red with notes of spice. Dry, 13.5% alcohol.

Serve at 16–18 °C with hearty meat dishes.
