Tasting notes

Pale yellow-green with silver reflections. Fresh white apple, a hint of mango, subtle herbal spice and minerality. Juicy ripe Golden Delicious apple on the palate, balanced, with fine acidity and clear ageing potential. Falstaff 94 points.

About this wine

Hirsch is a biodynamic family estate at the 500-year-old Zehenthof in Kammern, Kamptal, devoted only to Grüner Veltliner and Riesling as wines of origin.

The Ried Gaisberg slopes lie east of the Heiligenstein, facing south with a gradient of about 11%: highly calcareous chernozem with crystalline rock fragments below, gneiss higher up. The grapes are hand-harvested in October and aged in steel and large oak.

Pale yellow-green, with white apple, mango and herbal spice; 94 Falstaff points. Serve at 10–12 °C.
