Tasting notes

Deep purple-red. Aromas of blackcurrant, black cherry, cedar and sweet spice. Full-bodied and structured, with firm yet ripe tannins, fresh acidity and a long finish that promises further development in bottle.

About this wine

First Vintage is a one-off series from Bononia Estate in north-western Bulgaria, celebrating the first harvest bottled in the estate's own winery. It includes four wines from the 2019 vintage and will never be re-released.

Each bottle carries a unique serial number and a hand-painted label showing the vineyards and the winery. Only 2,000 bottles of each red were made, giving this Cabernet Sauvignon real collectible value and long ageing potential.

Serve at 16–18 °C, ideally decanted, with grilled steak, lamb or aged cheeses.
