Tasting notes

Deep gold with a delicate, slow bead. A complex nose of dried apricot, honey, roasted hazelnut, toasted brioche and chalk, with the freshness of the 2010 Chardonnay still intact. The palate is rich yet razor-sharp, with creamy texture, saline minerality and an extremely long, bone-dry finish.

About this wine

Dégorgement Tardif (late disgorgement) is a special edition of the numbered 700-series cuvées of Jacquesson, the Champagne house of Dizy: part of the bottles stays in the cellar on the lees under natural cork for years after the standard release and is disgorged much later.

Cuvée 738 is built on the 2010 harvest, picked between 14 and 27 September, which the house describes as elegant, fine and fresh with a clear advantage for Chardonnay. The wine spent 96 months on the lees under cork and was disgorged in June 2019 with a minimal dosage of 0.75 g/l.

Only 14,910 bottles and 741 magnums were produced: an elegant, fresh Champagne enriched by its exceptionally long ageing.
