Tasting notes

Ruby-garnet in colour. The nose opens with dried roses, ripe plum, tobacco and leather over mineral hints. The palate is full and velvety, with fine, polished tannins and balanced freshness, leading to a very long, persistent finish.

About this wine

Brovia is a family estate in Castiglione Falletto, founded in 1863 and run today by the fourth generation. Villero is one of the village's most celebrated crus, and the family bottles it as a separate single-vineyard Barolo to show the character of this specific slope.

The vineyards are farmed organically and the Nebbiolo is fermented in concrete, then aged for 24 to 30 months in French and Slavonian oak before being bottled without filtration. The result is a traditional, terroir-driven Barolo.

The 2018 vintage offers an expressive, elegant style with fine, polished tannins, a wine that already shows well and will continue to develop in the cellar.
