Tasting notes

Deep ruby with a garnet edge. The nose shows plum, cedar, tobacco and mineral notes with a light peppery lift. The body is dense and concentrated, built around tight, firm tannin, with the acidity and length to carry a long cellar stay.

About this wine

The Brovia family has been making wine at Castiglione Falletto since 1863; the estate is now run by the fourth generation, Elena Brovia and her husband Alex Sanchez.

Brea Vigna Ca' Mia comes from the Brea site in the neighbouring commune of Serralunga d'Alba, where the soils are poorer and more compact than in Castiglione. The wine spends twenty-four to thirty months in French and Slavonian oak casks and is bottled without filtration.

Serralunga is the source of the most structured Barolo in the zone, and this is the firmest, slowest-opening wine in the Brovia range.
