Tasting notes

Pale gold with a fine, persistent bead. The nose is rich and vinous, with ripe yellow apple, pear, hazelnut, brioche and a chalky, smoky note. The palate is full and textured yet taut, with vibrant acidity, a creamy mousse and a long, dry, saline finish shaped by the minimal dosage.

About this wine

Jacquesson is a Champagne house whose main cuvées carry a sequential number linked to the harvest on which they are built, rather than a non-vintage label that aims for the same taste every year. Cuvée 745 is based on the 2017 harvest, a year marked by severe April frosts, after which strict selection delivered a small crop of ripe, healthy grapes picked between 4 and 13 September.

The grapes come from the house's vineyards in Aÿ, Dizy and Hautvillers (66%) and from Avize and Oiry (34%), a blend of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier. Around 205,000 bottles were produced.

With a minimal dosage of just 0.75 g/l and only a small share of reserve wines, Cuvée 745 is a rich, full-bodied Champagne that preserves the purity and character of its vintage.
