Tasting notes

Bright pale gold with a fine, lively bead. The nose combines white flowers, citrus and ripe stone fruit with toasted almond and a smoky, mineral note. The palate is fresh and tense yet concentrated, with rounded, harmonious acidity, a denser body than other late vintages and a long, saline finish.

About this wine

Dom Pérignon makes only vintage Champagne, from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The 2013 vintage is one of the latest in the modern history of the house: a cold, wet winter, a cool spring with budburst two weeks behind, then the warmest and driest summer in 20 years, and a harvest that began on 28 September and took place mostly in October.

The summer brought concentration, while the cool harvest preserved freshness. According to cellar master Vincent Chaperon, the wine combines freshness and tension with concentration.
