Tasting notes

Luminous pale pink with a fine, continuous perlage. The nose is delicate and lively, with wild strawberry, pink grapefruit and rose, lifted by a light pastry note from the lees. The palate is vivid and clearly fruited, carried by intense refreshing acidity, and closes dry and long.

About this wine

Antica Fratta stands at Monticelli Brusati, in the heart of Franciacorta, where cellar galleries cut into the rock in 1850 still hold the bottles. Essence Rosé is the house's vintage rosé, an equal blend in which Pinot Nero gives the aromatics and Chardonnay the complexity and finesse.

Part of the Pinot Nero is vinified by maceration on the skins and part as a white wine, with fermentation in stainless steel so that the aromatics stay intact. The wine then rests at least thirty months on the lees in bottle. Dosage is a lean 3 g/l, and the magnum format slows its evolution further.
