Tasting notes

Intense straw yellow with old-gold highlights and a fine, persistent perlage. The nose opens with white flowers, followed by gentle citrus and candied fruit, with hints of pastry. The palate is structured and balanced, dry and precise, with a long, savoury and saline finish.

About this wine

'61 Nature 2018 is a vintage Franciacorta with no added dosage from Guido Berlucchi, the house that created the very first Franciacorta in 1961. The grapes come from three estate vineyards in the Franciacorta hills of Lombardy, Rovere, San Carlo and Ragnoli, planted at a high density of 10,000 vines per hectare.

The blend of 70% Chardonnay and 30% Pinot Nero rests on its lees in bottle for at least five years and a further six months after disgorgement, with zero dosage. The long ageing gives the wine elegance and a distinctive saline character.

A structured, gastronomic Franciacorta DOCG that pairs with a full meal rather than only the aperitivo.
