Tasting notes

Intense straw yellow with golden highlights and a very fine perlage. The nose offers ripe yellow fruit, acacia blossom and candied citron, with hints of toasted hazelnut and pastry from the long lees ageing. The palate is broad and clean, with vibrant minerality, balanced acidity and a very long, savoury finish.

About this wine

The Riserva "Cuvée Franco Ziliani" is named after the oenologist who created the very first Franciacorta for Guido Berlucchi in 1961. It is the house's most exclusive wine, produced in tiny quantities from a single parcel of the Arzelle vineyard in Borgonato, in the heart of Franciacorta, Lombardy.

The 2011 vintage is 100% Chardonnay. After the second fermentation in bottle it rested on its lees for 131 months, almost eleven years, and was released with no added dosage after a minimum of six months following disgorgement. Only 4,732 bottles were produced.
