Tasting notes

Deep, almost opaque ruby. Ripe black cherry, plum jam, dried fig, cocoa and sweet spice. Intense, velvety and soft on the palate, with rich fruit, round tannins and a long, warm finish.

About this wine

Cantine San Marzano was founded in 1962 by nineteen growers in San Marzano di San Giuseppe, in the heart of the Primitivo di Manduria area in Puglia. Anniversario 62 celebrates that founding year and is the winery's flagship red.

This 2020 Riserva is pure Primitivo: intense, complex and velvety, with ripe dark fruit and spice, at 14.5% alcohol. It has won Gold at the Berlin Wine Trophy and 97 points from Luca Maroni.

Serve at 16–18°C with hearty meat dishes and special occasions.
