Tasting notes

Concentrated aromas of ripe dark fruit, dried plum, herbs and sweet spice. The palate is full-bodied, powerful and elegant, velvety and soft, with ripe fruit, smooth tannins and a long, extractive finish with a gentle touch of sweetness.

About this wine

Vinicola Mediterranea is a winery in San Pietro Vernotico, near Brindisi, in the Salento area of Puglia. This red is made with the appassimento method: part of the grapes are dried before fermentation, which concentrates sugar, colour and flavour.

The 2025 is a cuvée led by Negroamaro. It is velvety and soft, full-bodied and intense, with ripe dark fruit, herbs and spice, velvety tannins and a long, extractive finish with a fine touch of sweetness. It has 14% alcohol and a gold medal from the Berlin Wine Trophy.

Serve at 16–18 °C with roast meats and cold cuts.
