Tasting notes

Deep ruby. Blackcurrant and black cherry from the Cabernet Sauvignon, a dense, dark-fruited core from the Marselan and a peppery, spicy note from the Syrah. The palate is dry and structured, with ripe tannins, good freshness and a long, savoury finish. A serious Danube red.

About this wine

IRIS Creation Red is the red blend of Chateau Burgozone, a winery on the banks of the Danube near Oryahovo whose vineyards run straight down to the river. The estate is one of the most distinctive of the Danubian Plain in north-west Bulgaria.

IRIS brings together Cabernet Sauvignon, Marselan and Syrah: blackcurrant and structure from the Cabernet, density from the Marselan and a peppery note from the Syrah. The result is a dry, well-built red with ripe dark fruit and a spicy edge.

Serve at 16–18 °C with red meat, barbecue or mature cheeses.
