Tasting notes

Deep garnet. Aromas of black fruit, plum, vanilla, cedar and sweet spice. Full-bodied, with structured yet rounded tannins, good freshness and a long, mellow oak-spiced finish.

About this wine

Minkovi Brothers was founded in 1875 in Karnobat and is among the oldest working wineries in Bulgaria. Oak Tree is its premium red blend, aged in oak barrels – hence the name.

The 2016 vintage shows black fruit, plum, vanilla, cedar and sweet spice, with a full body and structured tannins that have now become rounded. A mature, generous wine at a good moment for drinking.

Serve at 16–18 °C with roast veal, slow-cooked lamb or aged hard cheeses.
