Tasting notes

Pale gold with a lively, fine bead. The nose is bright and generous: juicy pear and crisp apricot, with white flowers and a touch of brioche from the years in cellar. The palate is light-footed and fresh rather than weighty, the fruit clearly drawn, and the finish is clean, dry and gently citric.

About this wine

Nicolas Feuillatte was founded in 1976 at Chouilly, in the heart of the Côte des Blancs, and draws on one of the broadest networks of grower vineyards in Champagne.

"Réserve Exclusive" Brut is the house's signature wine: all three classic Champagne varieties in the blend — Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier in roughly equal measure, with Chardonnay for lift — and three to four years in the cellars before release. The style is open and fruit-forward rather than austere, which is what has made it the house's best-known bottle.

This is the three-litre Jeroboam, four bottles in one and a format prized for both the slower ageing and the occasion it announces.
