Tasting notes

Pale gold with fine, lively bubbles. The nose offers fresh pear, white peach and citrus with hints of almond and toasted brioche. The palate is round and harmonious, with ripe fruit, a creamy mousse and a fresh, delicately persistent finish.

About this wine

This bottle of "R" de Ruinart comes in the house's "Second Skin" case, an eco-designed, fitted paper sleeve that is about nine times lighter than a traditional gift box. Ruinart, founded in Reims in 1729, is the oldest established Champagne house.

The wine is the house's classic Brut: Chardonnay, Ruinart's signature grape, makes up around 40% of the blend, completed by Pinot Noir and a little Meunier, with a generous share of reserve wines. It matures in the house's chalk crayères deep beneath Reims.
