Tasting notes

Deep red. Blackberry and ripe plum on the nose, lifted by black pepper and dried herbs. The palate is firm and structured, with tight tannins and a savoury, peppery finish.

About this wine

Bouquet is a Bulgarian grape created in the 1950s by crossing Mavrud with Pinot Noir, which explains both its depth and its aromatic lift. Borovitza is a small winery from Belogradchik, in north-west Bulgaria, with cult status among Bulgarian wine lovers.

This Great Terroirs bottling shows blackberry, plum, black pepper and dried herbs over firm, well-knit tannins. Serve at 16–18 °C with roast meat or aged cheese.
