Tasting notes

Pale gold with a fine, lively bead. The nose is fresh and generous, with white peach, apple, citrus and hints of hazelnut and brioche from the reserve wines. The palate is full and rounded yet elegant, with a creamy mousse, well-integrated acidity and a long, clean finish of ripe fruit and toasted bread.

About this wine

Brut Premier was for decades the classic non-vintage Champagne of Louis Roederer, one of the most prestigious houses of Reims and the creator of the legendary Cristal. The house has since replaced it with the Collection series, which it presents as the worthy heir of Brut Premier, making this bottle an interesting find for collectors.

Brut Premier blends Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier from the house's own vineyards with a generous share of reserve wines, part of them aged in oak, to achieve the richness and consistency that defined the style.

This 3-litre Jeroboam holds the equivalent of four standard bottles: an impressive format for toasts, weddings and festive dinners with many guests, and one in which Champagne ages particularly gracefully.
