Tasting notes

Golden colour. Red apple, citrus and chalky minerality on the nose, with notes of brioche from long ageing. The palate is vinous and bone-dry, with fine bubbles, vibrant acidity and a long, saline finish.

About this wine

David Léclapart farms around three hectares in Trépail, a Premier Cru village on the Montagne de Reims. His vineyards have been certified biodynamic since 2000, fermentations rely on native yeasts, and every Champagne he makes is released without dosage and with minimal sulphur.

L'Aphrodisiaque is the cuvée in his range that brings Pinot Noir together with Chardonnay from Trépail's chalky slopes. This bottle is from the LV12 release, based on the 2012 harvest.

Vinous, precise and energetic, it is a gastronomic grower Champagne from one of the most respected natural winemakers in the region, and a true rarity.
