Tasting notes

Bright gold with a fine mousse. The nose is expressive and mature: baked apple, quince, hazelnut, toasted bread and a chalky mineral note. The palate is vinous and tense, with the fresh acidity of the 2013 vintage, a creamy texture and a long, dry, saline finish that gains complexity with air.

About this wine

Jacquesson is a Champagne house in Dizy that in 2000 replaced its classic non-vintage Brut with the 700 series: numbered cuvées, each created as the best possible blend of its year, dominated by a single harvest and completed by a small share of reserve wines.

Cuvée 741 is based on the 2013 harvest. A cold, rainy spring delayed flowering, while a hot, dry August and September allowed a late but very high-quality picking in Aÿ, Dizy, Hautvillers, Avize and Oiry. Only the first pressing is used, and the wine is vinified and aged in oak foudres.

Aged for more than four years before disgorgement, it is a Champagne with the clear stamp of its vintage, led by the Pinot Noir of Aÿ and Dizy and the Chardonnay of Avize.
