Tasting notes

Pale copper pink with a fine, persistent mousse. The nose shows dried red berries, orange peel, toasted brioche and a hint of spice from the years in bottle. The palate is fresh and elegant yet full-bodied, with chalky minerality, a creamy texture and a long, savoury finish.

About this wine

La Grande Année Rosé is the vintage rosé Champagne of Bollinger, the house of Aÿ, made from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grown mainly in grand cru villages.

As with all of Bollinger's vintage wines, fermentation takes place exclusively in old oak barrels. The colour comes from a small addition of still red wine from Côte aux Enfants, the famous walled vineyard in Aÿ. The wine then rests on its lees for around six years under natural cork, with riddling and disgorgement carried out by hand.

The 2007 is now a mature Champagne with more than fifteen years of development, offering the complexity that only time can give.
