Tasting notes

Golden. White and yellow fruit, citrus and tropical hints with spice, minerality and buttery notes, evolving towards honey. Concentrated and balanced, with a very long finish. Lively acidity keeps the richness in check, and the wine has the depth to age for a decade or more.

About this wine

This white Grand Cru comes from Albert Bichot's Domaine du Pavillon. The Chardonnay vines, 35 to 40 years old, grow in the Languettes plot on the hill of Corton, facing south-east at around 280 metres on brown limestone soil over marl.

The wine is aged for 14 to 16 months on fine lees in oak barrels, 30 to 35 percent of them new. The 2017 vintage was rated 95 points by Wine Spectator and 96 points by James Suckling.

A concentrated, balanced and long-lived expression of one of Burgundy's great white crus.
