Tasting notes

Salmon pink with copper glints. Citrus zest, red fruit jelly, strawberry, peach, sweet spice and wild raspberry on the nose. The palate brings mandarin, blood orange and apple tart with a chalky touch, ending long on citrus peel and redcurrant.

About this wine

Cuvée Elisabeth Salmon was created in 1988 in honour of the co-founder of Billecart-Salmon, the house established in 1818 in Mareuil-sur-Aÿ.

The 2012 vintage comes entirely from grand and premier crus: Chardonnay from Chouilly, Avize and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, and Pinot Noir from Mareuil-sur-Aÿ and Verzenay, with a small share of old-vine Pinot Noir vinified as red wine. It spent 115 months on the lees and carries a low dosage of 3.8 g/l.

Refined, complex and long, it is the house's prestige rosé and a wine for truly special moments.
