Tasting notes

Bright straw yellow. The nose shows white peach, lemon, hawthorn blossom and a touch of hazelnut. On the palate it is silky yet vibrant, with sharp, clean acidity and a fine mineral texture carrying the fruit. The finish is long and persistent, with a distinctive salty note.

About this wine

Domaine de Montille, the family estate founded in Volnay and now led by Étienne de Montille, farms its vineyards organically across the Côte de Beaune and is renowned for wines of purity and precision.

This Puligny-Montrachet village wine from 2020 is 100% Chardonnay from organically farmed vines. It is aged for one year in 600-litre oak barrels, larger than the classic Burgundian barrique so that the oak stays discreet, and then rests for five months in stainless steel before bottling.

The result is a silky, lively white with the clean, mineral profile that has made Puligny one of the great names of white Burgundy, finishing with a saline persistence.
