Tasting notes

Clean, austere and precise on the nose. Chardonnay gives tension and structure, while Pinot Noir adds lasting aromas and depth of flavour. The palate is bone dry and focused, with saline notes rounding off a long, mineral finish. A purist's Franciacorta.

About this wine

Antica Fratta farms vineyards on the hills of Monticelli Brusati and Ome in Franciacorta, and its wines mature in cellars carved into the rock in 1850.

Essénce Nature is a vintage Franciacorta with no dosage liqueur added, a pure expression of the terroir. Chardonnay and Pinot Noir are gently pressed with a yield of no more than 30%, the Pinot Noir without skin contact, and the best base wines rest at least nine months in steel and French oak tonneaux. The wine then ages a minimum of 30 months on the lees in bottle.

Chardonnay brings longevity and structure, Pinot Noir persistent aromas and flavour.
