Tasting notes

Pale, luminous pink with a creamy mousse. Aromas of raspberry, blackberry and red berries, with a hint of rose petal and delicate spice. The palate is dominated by citrus freshness and lively acidity, with a fine texture, firm structure and a clean, lingering finish.

About this wine

'61 Rosé Nature is a vintage Franciacorta from the zero-dosage line of Guido Berlucchi, the house that bottled the first Franciacorta in 1961 in Borgonato, Lombardy. It is made entirely from Pinot Nero, briefly macerated on the skins to obtain its pale, luminous pink colour.

After the second fermentation in bottle the wine ages on its lees for at least five years, followed by about six months after disgorgement, with no added sugar. The long ageing marries the fruit expression of Pinot Nero with freshness and a firm, taut structure.

A dry, gastronomic Franciacorta DOCG rosé that shows how serious Pinot Nero can be in this corner of Italy.
