How to serve it
Tasting notes
Pale coral pink with a fine, abundant mousse. Wild strawberry, raspberry and white peach on the nose, with rose petal and a hint of citrus. The palate is light and gently sweet, its soft bubbles carrying fresh red fruit over moderate acidity. The finish is clean and refreshing, leaving redcurrant and a touch of candied grapefruit.
About this wine
La Marca is a cooperative of growers in the Treviso hills, founded in 1968 and now one of the best-known Prosecco producers outside Italy. Its rosé was introduced after the Prosecco DOC rules were changed in 2020 to allow a pink version.
The blend is mostly Glera with a share of Pinot Nero, which is vinified separately with brief skin contact to give colour. Second fermentation takes place in pressure tanks over a longer period than for white Prosecco, as the rosé rules require, and the wine is finished Extra Dry, leaving a little more sugar than Brut.
Easy, fruity and made for an aperitif.
