Tasting notes

Deep ruby with purple glints. Dried figs, dates, plum and blueberry jam with violet and delicate spice on the nose. The palate shows gentle sweetness balanced by lively freshness, soft tannins and a long finish.

About this wine

Produttori di Manduria is a cooperative in Manduria, Puglia, officially founded in 1932, uniting around 400 growers known as the "masters of Primitivo" and close to 900 hectares of mostly bush-trained alberello vineyards.

Madrigale is their naturally sweet Primitivo, made from vines around 50 years old that are harvested at the end of September with a low yield of about 40 quintals per hectare. The wine matures in steel tanks and then in bottle, without oak, to keep its fruit pure and vibrant.

It carries the Primitivo di Manduria Dolce Naturale DOCG, the appellation reserved for the sweet, late-harvested style of this historic grape.
