Tasting notes

Pale gold colour. Aromas of white-fleshed fruit, brioche and light toast. The palate is soft and rounded, with a mineral backbone, lively freshness and a long, aromatic finish.

About this wine

Albert Bichot is a Burgundy family house passed from father to son since 1831, with its own domaines stretching from Chablis to Beaujolais.

This Montagny Premier Cru comes from the southernmost tip of the Côte Chalonnaise, from clay-limestone and marl soils. The grapes are hand-picked, sorted and gently pressed, and the wine ferments and ages on fine lees in oak barrels for 12 to 14 months, 15 to 20% of them new.

The 2022 is a round, mineral and fresh Chardonnay, offering premier cru quality at a very approachable level.
