Tasting notes

Pale gold with fine, lively bubbles. The nose shows citrus, white flowers and small red berries with a hint of fresh brioche. The palate is crisp and delicate, with lemon, white peach and a light, creamy mousse, ending fresh and clean with a subtle mineral touch.

About this wine

Pommery was founded in Reims in 1858, and it was Madame Louise Pommery, who took over the house after her husband's death, who launched the first commercial Brut Champagne in 1874, at a time when sweet styles dominated. The house still works from its spectacular chalk cellars, 18 kilometres of Gallo-Roman crayères beneath the city.

Brut Royal is the house signature: a blend of roughly equal parts Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Meunier from around forty villages, completed with reserve wines and aged in the crayères for about three years.

Fresh, delicate and precise, it embodies the light, elegant style Pommery has defended for more than a century.
