Tasting notes

Deep golden straw with a fine, persistent perlage. The nose is intense and mature, with layered, enveloping aromas. The palate is dry, complex and full of nuance, with a firm texture, balancing acidity and a long finish (3.2 g/l dosage).

About this wine

Antica Fratta is a historic winery in Monticelli Brusati, in the heart of Franciacorta, whose underground galleries were carved into the rock in 1850.

Quintessénce is the house's Riserva, an Extra Brut from the 2015 vintage. The grapes, 70% Chardonnay and 30% Pinot Noir, were picked fully ripe to give more body and aromatic depth, and only the first fraction of the pressing was used, with a yield of no more than 30%. The tirage took place in May 2016, and the wine aged a minimum of 70 months on the lees in bottle.

Rich, layered and dry, it is a Franciacorta for the table and for special occasions.
