Tasting notes

Straw yellow with golden glints. Exotic fruit on the nose, with buttery and vanilla notes from the oak. Fresh yet soft on the palate, intense and dry, with a long, elegant finish.

About this wine

Produttori di Manduria is a cooperative in Manduria, Puglia, officially founded in 1932, uniting around 400 growers and close to 900 hectares of vineyards in the heart of the Salento peninsula.

Santa Gemma is their Chardonnay, made from espalier-trained vines around 20 years old. The grapes are picked in early September and fermented at 18 °C, after which the wine spends five months in French barriques.

The result is a southern Italian Chardonnay that combines freshness and softness, with a subtle buttery and vanilla touch from the oak framing its ripe, exotic fruit.
