Tasting notes
Bright pink with fine, lively bubbles. The nose shows wild strawberry, redcurrant and raspberry, followed by brioche and toasted almond. The palate is fresh and fruity, with a creamy mousse, firm structure from Pinot Noir and a clean, persistent finish.
About this wine
Founded in Reims in 1772, Veuve Clicquot owes much of its fame to Madame Clicquot, who in 1818 created the first blended rosé Champagne by adding still red wine to the cuvée, a technique the house still follows today.
The Brut Rosé is built on the house's Pinot Noir-led style: 50-55% Pinot Noir, 28-33% Chardonnay and 15-20% Pinot Meunier, with around 12% red wine added to give colour and red-fruit intensity.
The result is a generous, fruit-forward rosé Champagne that combines the structure of Pinot Noir with a toasty, brioche-like depth, equally at home at a celebration or at the dinner table.
