Tasting notes

Pale straw yellow with greenish reflections. A varietal, mineral nose with notes of yellow pepper, sage and melon. The palate is fresh, full and long, with crisp acidity and a savoury finish.

About this wine

The Collavini family has been making wine since 1896, and today the winery is based in Corno di Rosazzo, in a 16th-century villa in Friuli.

Blanc Fumât is their Collio Sauvignon, from vineyards around San Floriano del Collio, Cormons and Gorizia, harvested in September. The grapes undergo a cold maceration overnight, ferment for around two weeks in stainless steel and then rest on their fine lees until fully mature.

A varietal, mineral Sauvignon that shows why the Collio hills are among Italy's finest white wine terroirs.
