Tasting notes

Pale straw with the faintest green tint. The nose is clean and quietly varietal: green apple, pear and a hint of lemon blossom. The palate is dry and light-bodied, acidity brisk without being sharp, and the finish is short but refreshing, with the gentle almond note the grape often leaves behind.

About this wine

Delle Venezie is the denomination created for Pinot Grigio across Italy's north-east, covering the Veneto, Friuli-Venezia Giulia and the province of Trento. It exists because this corner of the country supplies the great majority of the world's Pinot Grigio, and the appellation was drawn up to put a quality floor under that output.

Poesie works within it in the straightforward register the grape does best: grapes picked for freshness rather than ripeness, a cool fermentation in stainless steel, no oak, and bottling early to keep the fruit intact.

The result is a dry, undemanding white meant for everyday drinking rather than the cellar.
