Tasting notes

Ruby red with violet glints. Red and black berries with black pepper and a hint of spice on the nose. Fresh and medium-bodied on the palate, with soft tannins, juicy fruit and a dry, peppery finish.

About this wine

Syrah is the grape around which Tenuta Sallier de La Tour was built. The estate lies in the Monreale area a few kilometres from Palermo and has been entrusted to the Tasca d'Almerita family since 2008.

The vineyards for this wine face south-west, gaining light and summer warmth, while the potassium-rich clay soil is moist in spring and dry in summer, keeping the vines in balanced vigour. 30% of the wine spends 12 months in second- and third-use French oak barriques from Allier and Tronçais, and 70% stays in stainless steel.

With full malolactic fermentation and almost no residual sugar, it is a fresh red that is ready to drink now.
