Tasting notes

Deep ruby with violet hints. Intense aromas of ripe dark berries, black cherry and plum with a touch of Mediterranean herbs. The palate is concentrated and deep, with perfectly structured tannins, a full, rounded mouthfeel and a harmonious, powerful finish.

About this wine

Portuga Tinto 2022 is a gold-medal red from Casa Santos Lima, one of Portugal's most awarded family wineries, grown in the Alentejo in the hot, dry south-east of the country. Here the grapes ripen among olive trees and cork oaks through long, sunny summers.

The wine is intensely fruity, concentrated and remarkably deep: ripe dark berries, cherries and plums fill the glass, while perfectly structured tannins give a full mouthfeel and a harmonious, powerful finish. Alcohol is 13.5%.

Serve at 16–18 °C with hearty meat dishes, grilled lamb, stews and aged cheeses.
