Tasting notes

Garnet red with ruby glints. The nose offers red cherry, rose petals and sweet spices with hints of dried fruit. The palate is elegant and fresh, with pleasant, fine-grained tannins, bright acidity and a very long, spicy finish.

About this wine

Giuseppe Cortese is a family estate in the village of Barbaresco, in the Langhe hills of Piedmont, best known for its holdings in the celebrated Rabajà cru. The family grows its own Nebbiolo and makes wines in a classic, terroir-focused style.

This Barbaresco is made entirely from Nebbiolo of the 2020 vintage and aged for 18 months in oak barrels before release, a period that softens the grape's firm tannins while preserving its aromatic lift.

It combines the floral finesse typical of Barbaresco with fine-grained tannins and lively freshness, drinking well now and with the structure to develop further in the cellar.
