Tasting notes

Straw yellow with green highlights. The nose shows gooseberry, nettle and sage, with acacia blossom, lime, grapefruit, mango and passion fruit. The palate is fruity and soft, with delicate acidity and a long, refreshing finish. The lees ageing adds a creamy texture that balances the vibrant acidity.

About this wine

La Scolca is a family estate in Gavi, in south-eastern Piedmont, where four generations have devoted themselves to the Cortese grape and helped build the reputation of the appellation. With "Sol Luì" the family offers its own take on Sauvignon Blanc grown in Piedmont.

Before fermentation the grapes undergo cryomaceration, a cold skin contact that extracts aroma. The wine then ferments in temperature-controlled stainless steel and rests on its lees, which adds texture and length.

The result is a fresh, juicy and lively white with clear varietal character and a tropical touch, a modern counterpoint to the estate's Gavi.
