Tasting notes

Pale straw with green reflections. The nose is delicate and fruit-led, with green apple, pear and a touch of white blossom. The palate is light and easy, with gentle acidity and a soft, clean body. The finish is short and fresh, leaving no trace of alcoholic warmth.

About this wine

Cantina Zaccagnini, founded in 1978 at Bolognano in Abruzzo, is known throughout Italy for the hand-tied vine shoot fastened to each of its bottles. Tralcetto 0.0 extends that everyday range to drinkers who want the character of wine without the alcohol.

The wine begins as a conventional white from Abruzzese white grapes, fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel. The alcohol is then removed by a gentle vacuum process that works at low temperature, so the aromatics of the base wine survive largely intact.

The result is a still white at 0.0% alcohol, bottled to be served as chilled as any of the estate's whites.
